The 105:  future modern and bold living space that will animate the quays of the Seine  

Last October, the Rouen Normandy Metropolis, the City of Rouen and HAROPA – Port of Rouen have launched a call for projects for the 105. This space is located on the left bank, in place of the former Hangar 105, right next to the concert hall Le 106, the new space Le 107 (restaurants, childcare facility, startup incubator, exhibition hall, heads offices) and Le 108, the headquarters of the Metropolis, conceived by the architect Jacques Ferrier.

Monday, the 23rd of April, the winner of this call for projects has been unveiled. The selected project is the one led by the team La Métropolitaine and the architect Marc Mimram, a bold and multifunctional project. This future space, with a very modern architecture, mix different unusual and lively places: theater, skate park, indoor climbing wall, gastronomic restaurants, four-star hotel with a pool and a Spa on the rooftop, participative innovation incubator… This site, a real recreational space that will be set in the very heart of the Flaubert eco-neighborhood, will offer inhabitants a large range of activities oriented to leisure and will participate to the life of the left bank quays.

From an architectural point of view, the future building will be built as a belvedere, open to the city and the Seine and surrounded by a light and transparent structure. It will be made up of three segments, two separate buildings and a square that will link “Le 105” pavilion and its inner courtyard, the forum, an open space and the 105 bis pavilion. The construction of the 105 will begin right after the Armada, in 2019, for an grand opening in 2022.

The 105 will integrate:
– a four-star hotel with a Spa and a pool in the rooftop
– a theater of 600 seats, the Théâtre à l’Ouest
– many restaurants, includind gourmet restaurants
– cafés and bars
– a panoramic terrace
– a training workshop
– an indoor climbing wall and a skate park
– a nail bar, a barber shop and a tattooist/piercer shop
– shared spaces for businesses, artists or associations.
