What to see in Rouen during the European Night of Museums
Saturday, the 19th of May, for the fourteenth edition of the European Night of Museums, guided tours, entertaining visits, workshops and activities will be offered to the participants, from nightfall to midnight, to make the public discover museums in a less traditional way. The participating museums will show imagination and creativity to offer the public a festive and unusual night.
The Museum of Rouen will offer kids between 5 and 8 experimental workshops and scientific experiments on the theme of the five senses. How bubbles are made? How do boats float? Why do we lose taste when we have a cold? Senses will have no secret for kids! While kids learn in a fun way, grown-ups will can participate to “speedsearching” with researchers within the framework of the Experimentarium Festival.
The Museum of Fine Arts will reveal its masterpieces’ secrets and will provide a creative workshop named “Flash at the museum”. You can also enjoy the Night of the Museum to (re)discover its exhibitions “Volutes et Dentelles – Dialogue entre les Art” and “Le Temps des Collection VI”.
The Museum of Antiquities will offer kids between 6 and 12 an investigation-rally, in collaboration with the Museum of Rouen, on the theme of fantastic creatures. The Museum will also invite the entire family to discover Gallo-Roman culinary specialties.
The Museum of the Vallois Corderie will invite you to its grand reception to learn how to properly set the table, in a lively show, with, Thomas Rollin, an actor and director, Patricia Degremont and spectators actors.
The Pierre Corneille Museum will welcome you in its garden where you can have a picnic with family or friends. The Museum will also offer “pastoral aniamtions” and a night visit of the house.
